Hello! My name is Paige and I just finished majors in Physical Geography and Climate and Environment Science at UC Santa Barbara. I hope to earn a PhD in Physical Oceanography and spend as much time as possible sailing the oceans for science. In addition, I have always been fascinated with the powers of mapping, and I am currently working on a thesis creating A Framework for Modeling Coastal Eutrophication in GIS, in collaboration with faculty at BREN School of Environmental Science and using ESRI resources, which I hope to publish by the end of 2018. In addition, I am a math and science tutor for Leading Edge Tutoring in Santa Barbara, where I’ve had the pleasure of tutoring ages 6-32.
Outside of academics, I have too many interests to list! I love swimming, water polo, golfing, camping, bodysurfing, hiking, picnicking, and basically any excuse I can get to go outside. Thankfully, I have a great group of friends crazy enough to join me on my adventures. My insane love of planning and organization led to my ETSY store, Fiat Lux Planning, and inspired me to post more about my student habits on this blog.
Most recently, I have had the most amazing opportunity this summer to travel, make friends, and expand my GIS skills because of my internship at DONG Energy in Copenhagen, Denmark.
If all that wasn’t enough, here’s a little more information:
